In Thailand, offerings are made to Buddha.  In Thai, the Buddhist Temple is called a Wat.  The Buddhist Temple is were people go to pray and give an offering in form of money, flowers, fruit, incense sticks or gold leafs.  This image shows gold leafing on the two Buddha statues.  The gold leafing can be purchased as small sheets to be placed on the Buddha statues.
