Conserve

Cured

Shriveled

This series examines the relationship between attempts at preservation and inevitable change.

Nothing can be preserved without it’s very nature being changed. The flavors are altered, the texture.

As a self-portrait series it is about self-preservation. How physical and emotional attempts at preservation are ultimately pointless. Change is inevitable and you are changed by the things you experience and the memories you make.

Curing the mind and body, curing foodstuffs. Either way the product is altered in the process of the change. We cannot be unaffected by the process as it is part of the flavor we become.
