Like so many people around the world I grew up immersed in American popular culture and ideology. Although an outsider, I have been partly structured by this imagined and projected dream.

During the first quarter of 2016, I traveled to the USA in order to begin an exploration into the disconnect between my concept of the American Dream and reality. I decided to hire a car at Newark Airport and drove west. The Red Roof Inn in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania, became my base. During this short exploration I chose to photographically explore the disparities between the wealthy and the poor. These images formed the content of my self-published book dummy, Diverging Dreamlines.
