Inspired by his expressive and emotive use of color and his love of sunflowers, Vincent’s Flowers, is my homage to Vincent Van Gogh. Plagued by psychiatric illness through his life, Van Gogh painted as a remedy for dealing with his illness. Lonely and depressed, nature gave him comfort and strength. Despite alternating periods of crises, recovery and health, Van Gogh believed in the healing power of painting.

Artist Statement

I am an abstract art photographer in Phoenix, Arizona. My art is a visual exploration of the world around me, captured through the lens of my camera and translated into abstract forms through the techniques of Intentional Camera Movement (ICM) photography. By intentionally moving the camera during exposure, I am able to capture painterly and abstract effects that tell unique and compelling visual stories.

Inspired by the lines, textures, colors, and shapes that surround me, I use them to evoke emotional responses in my art. Through ICM photography, I am able to see the world in a new and unexpected way, allowing me to express my thoughts and feelings without words. Each photograph I create is a snapshot of a fleeting moment, a blend of movement, color, and emotion that invites viewers to experience the beauty and fluidity of the world through my unique lens.

My technique creates images that capture the essence of a singular moment in time. I want my art to resonate with viewers, to transport them into a world where colors blend and shapes dance, evoking a sense of wonder and intrigue. Through my abstract photography, I aim to compose visual stories that challenge perceptions and ignite the imagination. By embracing the art of In Camera Movement, I hope to inspire others to see the beauty in the ordinary and to appreciate the fleeting moments that make life so wondrous.

In every image I create, I strive to create art that is both visually stimulating and emotionally engaging. My goal is to invite viewers to see the world in a new light, to experience the beauty and complexity of life through the lens of my camera. In a world where everything moves fast and is easily forgotten, I strive to create art that captures the essence of a moment, allowing viewers to experience the fluidity, color, and emotion of that moment before it disappears
