Sometimes blunt, often dark but always grounded in reality.

We just

“It’s a good poem, we just want more.”
The editors keep sending me letters asking.

Why eat a slice of pizza when you can eat the whole God damn thing?

Why drive a small car when you can crush the earth beneath you in the biggest SUV?

Why have the smallest of anything when you can have the biggest house, the biggest footprint, the biggest trash pile? The most of everything?

Why can’t just enough be just enough?

I have a lot of poetry written, somewhere around 20 chapbooks and two full-length collections still waiting to find a home. It’s not realistic for me to assume they will all eventually be published. Social media has always been a sore spot for me, and I recently ditched the few sites I was on and decided to create the blog to have a space to put all these poems. I can also use it for links to publications, podcasts and any other projects I may be working on. The best part is (for you the reader), it’s all free! While I do occasionally like to make a couple bucks from my work, not everything is about making money…a point the academic types might disagree on. Welcome to my depressed little world.

Ken Tomaro is the self-proclaimed poet laureate of the Cleveland sewer system who’s work reflects everyday blue-collar life with depression. His writing has been published in several journals, and he is the author of 4 full-length poetry collections as well as creator of the YouTube channel, Screaming Down the Poetic Highway.
