I quickly got obsessed, because taking photographs opened up a whole new world for me to explore. Photography taught me how to really see and how to really be sensitive to all that is happening around me. It also helped me reconcile myself with my everyday surroundings, which I many times felt to be oh so boring. This also had and still has a very calming and therapeutic effect on me. Stylistically, I then got very much drawn to heavy contrasty scenes, with lots of negative space and a more minimalistic view of things. I mostly shoot urban surroundings around the area of Mainz, Germany, where I live.
