I was already fascinated by photography back in the days of analogue photography. During that period, I learnt the basic principles of photography: what do ISO, aperture and shutter speed mean? What happens inside the camera, and how does all this affect the final image?

In 2016, I reached a point where I wanted more than just holiday snaps and casual photos. I wanted to take ‘proper’ photographs – to capture moments and portray them exactly as I see them with my own eyes. As a self-taught photographer, I expanded my knowledge through books, the internet and, above all, by practicing photography.

I'm particularly drawn to architectural and street photography right now.

These genres offer an endless array of perspectives and subjects to discover. A city never gets boring—it's constantly changing and always presents new challenges.

For me, photography is more than just capturing a moment – it’s a way of capturing emotions and moods. I’m particularly fascinated by details and perspectives that are often overlooked. But the interplay of light and shadow never fails to captivate me either.

I have been a member of the German Photographic Association and the 'Lichtmaler Niederrhein' photography club since 2024. Regular exchanges with other photography enthusiasts inspire and nurture my creative development and continually broaden my photographic horizons.
