The top hat is the central thread running through this photographic series. By turning a character, a witness, or simply a presence, it moves through real scenes, gently shifting them toward the realm of imagination.

Through it emerge open-ended stories, allowing each viewer to project their own memories, dreams, and questions. The images invite a poetic wandering through a world where time seems suspended and the boundary between reality and fiction becomes uncertain.

More than a mere accessory, the top hat becomes the silent companion of an inner journey.

Biography

Photography came to me as a late but undeniable calling. As I approached retirement, I chose to devote my time and attention fully to it—not as a new beginning, but as the culmination of a sensitivity that had long been present, quiet, and persistent.

My work is rooted in a search for simplicity and essence. Drawn to the strength and timelessness of black and white photography, I use color when the subject calls for it. Above all, I seek emotion: a fragile light, an almost imperceptible movement, a suspended atmosphere.

My approach is intuitive. I do not seek to impose a specific interpretation, but rather to create a space for experience. Each image becomes an invitation—to feel, to interpret, and to inhabit the silence it offers.
