Kaleidoscope Mirror—The setting sun turns the world into a shifting kaleidoscope of colors over the Great Salt Lake.

Moonscape Fan—The interplay between earth and water in the badlands of Utah.

Dawn Mirror—Moments after the sun rose over the Wasatch Range, the clouds merged into the mirror of the Great Salt Lake and the world was awash in pink.

Salt Lake Dream—A stillness and a sea of colors arrive with the setting sun over a remote arm of the Great Salt Lake.

Sunset Dunes—Three miles into the dunes, a final ascent allowed for this view…a sea of blue streaked with one last glimmer of gold before the sun dipped over the horizon to sleep in Great Sand Dunes National Park.

Dune Lines—Mesmerizing textures and patterns emerge with the rising sun throughout the dune fields of Death Valley National Park.

Dune Patterns—Dawn rises bringing shadows and light to the dunes deep in the backcountry of Great Sand Dunes National Park.

Dune Storm—Walls and walls of sand with an impending sand storm approaching off in the distant reaches of White Sands National Park.

Glacier Reflection—A turn down an unmarked gravel road led us to an access point to explore one of Iceland’s many massive glaciers. In a small cove at the terminal point of the glacier, only a wisp of wind broke the world between real and reflection.

These selected images are not part of one particular project, but they are linked at their core with my love of the natural world.  As often as possible, I explore wild spaces and try to open my mind and senses to the act of noticing.  The photos presented here all share that same thread.      

I am a Washington, DC based photographer who is infatuated with the natural world. I am a chaser of light and a searcher for ephemeral moments of beauty.  I love my feet in dirt, sand, snow and water. I feel most alive when I am in a state of awe—with a lens in hand, I search for the sublime to share moments of wonder with the world.
