Sándor is blind. He lost his sight thirty years ago due to macular degeneration. He also works as a disabled pensioner: he programs, repairs electricity, and cars. He is the father of two children.

Bence is blind. He has optic atrophy, as do his two brothers, who are also blind. He is studying to be a lawyer in Budapest. He reads a lot with the help of assistive devices. Mostly Sci-fi.

Bence is blind. He works at the VGYSE in Eger. He lost his sight due to a disorder caused by a severe drug allergy. He studied cultural anthropology at the University of Miskolc. He travels a lot, goes to concerts, and is involved in community activities.

Katalin is visually impaired. She lives in Eger, and is a dispatcher for a taxi company. She sees too little to be accepted as sighted, but too much to be accepted as blind

More than 30 thousand blind people live in Hungary today, and the number of visually impaired people exceeds 100 thousand. Society tends to view the blind as outsiders and those struggling with unsolvable problems. However, the majority of blind and visually impaired people live full lives; they work, travel, play sports – they also engage in activities that we don’t even think about, and the development of technology and the use of certain tools help their activities become even broader. The series – which features both blind people and people with severe visual impairments – aims to show the beauty and extraordinary power of a gaze. (The series was made in 2016, Hungary.)

István is blind. He lives in a nursing home. He is a member of the Eger Integration and Sports Association for the Blind and Visually Impaired. Before losing his sight, he was a marathon runner.

Ignác is blind. He was sighted, but due to a complication his vision deteriorated steadily over the years, until he finally lost his sight completely. He is the head of the Tourist Section of the Hermina Association of the Blind and Visually Impaired.

Judit is blind. A mother of one child, living in Mezőszemeré, she is an employee of the Eger
Integration and Sports Association for the Blind and Visually Impaired. She practically only perceives light.
