This is an exploration into the tradition of local corner shops. Have we lost touch with the small business and the personal shopping experience that they provide?

 

The erosion of small shops could be viewed as the erosion of the social glue that binds communities together. If smaller stores were squeezed out, there could be social, economic and environmental consequences felt by local communities. As consumers, we may be benefiting in the short term from the attractive offer that supermarkets can present to us, but at what cost?
