Homelessness has risen amongst those who have worked all of their lives.
For they say the golden years are grand.
When some have chosen between their heart medication or their heat.
For they say the golden years are grand.
When some have no choice but to sell all of their priceless family artifacts just to survive.
For they say the golden years are grand.
When they are forced to move from the place they called home.
Only to live in cars and trucks with their bull dog in the front seat.
Hoping to find another permanent shelter.
For they say the golden years are grand.
In a country where wealth is predominantly obscene.
And yet disparity is more predominant for many.
For the golden years are not so grand.
