Throbbing drum beats
and numbing numbered chants
Be still my heart
And let the darkness spread
…
Over days, months and years
a deafening silence still
I wait
hopelessly hopeful hopelessly hopeful.
Now it is dark
…it is black
In the still waters I float
I float
I float
I float
A flutter, a chirp
A whisper in my ear
‘Build on colours you cannot see
not hold
not hear
Sing and dance
Rejoice
and remain
You are time abandoned
And stillness claimed.’
