Dreams are false things
shallow and misleading
offering hope, joy, but
disappearing at first light.
Dreams are misty things
vague and unsettling
drifting away from truth
burning off by early morn.
Dreams are stubborn things
static and unyielding
overstaying their welcome
ignoring the passing day.
Dreams are pitiful things
weak and clinging
holding on pathetically
dragging on into the night.
Dreams are absurd things
false and unneeded
outliving their usefulness
wasting each moment of time.
Dreams are beautiful things
deep and meaningful
offering hope, joy, and
holding on well after first light.
