The photographs are taken in and around my work environment. I’m a wind turbine blade technician. Some are taken while at work (during breaks of course) and others are taken after or before work when the light works – or even in the environment around work.

I’m from big cities and these wind farms are in deserts, mountain ranges, the middle of the sea. So, I’ve found myself for 10 years or so in very unfamiliar, often barren spaces. And I think these are great places to see big, broad, abstracted, immersive images. The focus is finding unusual and pleasing forms amidst these industrial projects that are building the infrastructure of the Third Industrial Revolution – hence the name of the Photographs, ‘Third Wave Geometry’. I think the very existence of the projects I earn my living on, the political, economic and social circumstances that necessitate their existence is sobering, stark and has us all – western society at large, maybe humanity – feeling a little overwhelmed. The weight of it bears down on us. I want that weight to be conveyed in the images. Even if you deny the effect of human behavior on climate change, the perceived insistence on it by a presumably conspiratorial upper-class of hyper-industrial techno-capitalists must be a burden, the feeling of which I can only speculate must be consuming.
