The “Darkness / Ténèbres” series is a dystopian vision of an “afterlife” both near and far, not entirely frightening because it incorporates the reassuring nobility of the trees that dominate us, precede us and outlive us.
An atmosphere that is both welcoming and frightening.
Bio: For the past three decades, I've been taking pictures of people on the street. Influenced by the humanist photographers of the last century, I have tried to freeze on my black and white films a tiny portion of the lives of the people I meet, moments that are both banal and unique. The book “Inconnus Familiers / Familiar Unknowns” (Snap Collective Publishing / London) is the culmination of this approach, bringing together snapshots of unknown people. For some years now, I've been trying to develop my approach as an author-photographer by composing a series of a social, documentary or purely artistic nature.
