The Shape of Time

Photography, for me, is an attempt to perceive what is constantly fading away. It does not stop time—it simply allows us to see the traces it leaves behind. Every form, every place, and every moment exists only for a certain time before transforming into something else.

Time continuously shapes the world while transforming and dissolving its previous forms. What seems permanent today may look entirely different tomorrow. Forms emerge, endure for a brief moment, and then fade, giving way to new ones. Their beauty lies precisely in their impermanence.

Just as landscapes bear the marks of time, so do we. Our experiences, changes, and losses leave invisible layers of memory within us. Each stage of life gives us a new shape, yet none of these forms is ever final.

Light and shadow remind us that everything depends on the moment from which we choose to look. The same place can reveal an entirely different meaning as the light, the season, or time itself changes. Form cannot exist apart from time—it is its fleeting reflection.

In photography, I search for more than an image. I seek the moment of transition—the instant when one form still endures while another is only beginning to emerge. It is in this space between permanence and impermanence that I find room for reflection.

No form is ever final. Everything that exists is only a temporary shape of time, present for a moment before transforming into something new.

Photography allows me to preserve not the thing itself, but its passage through time.

Photographers, whether partial or impartial to their subject matter, consume a massive amount of insight. Their participation cannot be substituted nor replicated. The moment is gone! The experiences will live in their minds and those encounters are immortalized in their photographs.
