They call themselves ‘Gigants’. They are Praga, Warsaw inhabitants, homeless living underground in sewers in the Żerań area. They live as we do: joke, smile, laugh, meet fellows, make friends, love, read books…. but their daily budget is about 1$. They earn some cash working temporarily or collecting cans and bottles. Almost everyone has done something against the law and for a few years stayed in a prison. But here nobody asks unnecessary questions. They help each other, share their goods and dream about a better life. Some of them come for a while and go but a few have lived here for over 16 years.
