2000 U.S. Troops Remain in Syria

According to Defense Secretary Jim Mattis, about 2000 United States troops will continue to stay in Syria to fight ISIS.

Objectives:

1. Aiding Syrian Democratic forces
2. Fight ISIS
3. Training local security forces

Defense Secretary Mattis blamed the ongoing battle in Syria, on Russia and Iran’s assistance to Assad.
