Lost to the horrors of war
Years ago, before the conflict, I spent one month travelling throughout Syria. The people were some of the friendliest and peaceful I have ever met. The world really let them down. All they wished was to have the same opportunities as others who live in free countries.
Like father like son, baby Assad, ran the country into the ground. In the meantime, year after year, the civil war opened the country to terrorists who came in and took control of the fight against the Assad regime. The people caught in the middle while the world just looked on.
