Lilting songbird serenades
From a petite body, a sonic shockwave
Ruptures sedimentary Earth
Causing fault lines to shift
and tectonics to engage

Blessed by the Gods
With pure, limitless vocal range
She makes her mark known
Visa-vie versatility that vaults
Over every waking obstacle

Audiences turn their heads
In jaw-dropping astonishment
She’s the talk of the town
From the pit of her diaphragm
To the tip of her trachea
With every note, her voice inciting rebellion
Clashing against status quos and hierarchal incivility

An expression that is the last remnant
of a tireless war
One with self and with greater society
Soprano toggled into the times we live
Does it have the power to be a savior
In times of cruel crisis?
To ascend the crestfallen from nuclear devastation?

This gift is not meant to be in careless hands
With any power, responsibility becomes paramount
As she repels the naysayers, fortifies her resolve
And transmutes wishful wants into actionable results

A canary’s cry echoing long after
Reabsorbing into the ether
