The Salvadoran Civil War went on for over twelve years and killed more than 75,000 people between 1980 and 1992.
The book gives the reader an intimate look into the daily life in El Salvador, during the mid 1980’s to mid 1990’s. In 1986, Larry Towell went to El Salvador and documented the civil war and aftermath for a decade.
Every photo tells a story of either simplicity, suffering, struggles, poverty, or death; with very few smiles. The black & white photographs are so close that the reader feels like they are immersed into the scene. You will find the captions for the 96 pages of photographs at the end of the book.
