If you are an exotic tropical plant collector, tropical gardener, or tropical garden designer, than this book is a nice edition to your library.  The book is divided into nine sections: Introduction, Ornamental Trees, Flowering Shrubs and Annuals, Foliage Plants, Vines and Creepers, Exotics, Ground Covers, Water Plants, Palms, and Orchids. This large paperback is a well manufactured guide and excellent identification and information source. 449 color illustrations! Other books such as a book only on palms, gingers, bromeliads, etc,  will be needed  if you become a serious tropical plant collector. However, Tropical Plants For Home And Garden more than serves its purpose as a general  guide to tropical plants. Further, the outstanding photos give you a push to collect, dig, and continue planting your garden.
