Written by Nikita Das
What should I do with this skin,
that screams of a void,
made from hushed-down memories
and a longing parched of love?
Where should I put this heart,
and heartbeat that meant to feel
this, and that, and everything
in all its glory?
Like when my world suddenly crumbles,
it’s more than just me and dried tears.
It’s a spiral of all the universes within me,
a collision of galaxies destined to perish—
or so it seems.
But the death is never there,
at least, not for real.
It’s just a slight knock on the door—
saying:
I am here,
to meet you, my dear.
To teach you to look into the mirror,
and see the miracles this world has witnessed,
when you tumbled, fell, and dispersed;
when you fought, rose, and grew bejeweled.
When you chose to become YOU.
