Renowned Croatian photographer Aleksandar Tomulic presents a series of street-themed photographs. There are shots from various cities, from Barcelona, Rome, Milan, Zagreb to Rijeka and Opatija, mostly the view is from street level, and in almost all the photographs the right moment is captured, which gives the shot a higher dimension.

The nature of street photography imposes an approach in which a well-framed motif and the right moment create the energy of the message, without the possibility of directing or adjusting.

Focusing on the human figure, movement and pose is the basic interest of the author in this series.

The figure is always integrated into the context of the environment and is in an equal relationship with it.

These photographs of pure compositions emphasize, above all, the author’s fascination with the geometry of the street and the play of shadows and reflections and in such an approach one can read the recognizable author’s handwriting.

The value of these photographs is reflected in the way he captures the specific urban landscape and the choice of the moment of shooting.

He carefully places humans in the frames of the city, but not as a subject that gives the space an element of life, but rather emphasizes its transience.

Because of all this, from the presented, seemingly simple photographs, one can read a deeper meaning and reflection of the author.
