Bio "I do not paint what I see, but what I saw." This insightful reflection from Edvard Munch resonates at the core of my practice as an artist. I employ photography as a technique and digital post-processing as a method to create my works. My images often consist of a fusion of elements from multiple exposures, although sometimes a single exposure can effectively convey the mood I wish to express. Each piece is an attempt to communicate my immediate experience of the idea's conception. I am honored to have been recognized with a Master Portfolio from the The Nordic Society of Photography and a National Bronze Plaque, in addition to several awarded works. My pieces have been exhibited in various photography exhibitions, which have been an essential part of my journey as an artist. Currently, I am focused on reinterpreting previous expressions in more engaging ways. While I continue to evolve my photographic approach, it is the digital post-processing that occupies me the most at present. I look forward to sharing these with a wider audience. My mantra: What I saw! Artist Statement As an artist, I strive to convey harmony and tranquility through my images, which can be both concrete and abstract. I aim to create an organic harmony that resonates deeply with viewers. My artistic vision is to capture moments where human experience and the beauty of nature merge, inviting reflection, harmony, and calm. To achieve the desired dynamism, I often combine various exposures with different tonal ranges and depth of field. In instances where blur has not been captured in the right areas, I use specific techniques to achieve this. I also experiment with photographing and integrating diverse objects and landscapes to compose the expression I seek. My understanding of how colors influence perception and the cultural meanings that color combinations carry is continuously evolving. It is in the combination of photography and digital post-processing that I find joy and creative freedom. I exclusively use my own work in my art pieces. Nature and the light here north of the Arctic Circle serve as a significant source of inspiration, along with the ideas that emerge during the creative process. Artists such as Mikael Lundblad, Picture Devon Photography, Fan Ho, and portrait photographers like Elena Shumilova and Alicja Zmysłowska inspire me. I also find great motivation in the work of Erik Johansson, who is known for his unique images that blend different photographs. The themes in my works reflect a passion for landscapes, nature, and the phenomena of light and dark. Buildings and landmarks receive renewed attention if I discover a uniqueness that aligns with my vision. Occasionally, I also include portraits of people and animals in my artistic practice. The uniqueness of my work lies in the way I perceive the subjects. I look beyond the mere visual impression present at the moment the photograph is taken and strive to convey a deeper experience to the viewer. My ambition is for the audience to experience joy and harmony while contemplating my images - an invitation to share moments of stillness and reflection.
