Written by Samantha Hohnhaus
Wind is picking up
I walk my garden in a daze
And in my centre I can see
new
blue periwinkle,
sunflower and growing dahlia.
The more I walk
The less I see,
less colours
less flowers
less life
a wasteland in my farthest corners
my inner proof of former love.
Glancing back I know
a mix of blue and white and pink
beckoning me back to optimistic feels
Violets pop up and
amidst a sea of purple-blue
a sunny tulip shining through.
I turn back to my deepest corner
walk the wasteland free of doubt
and see aloe’s seedlings grow
and as I reach the end
a growing borderline
, hydrangea and daffodil,
in our hearts.
Self-love.
