As I walked past the man blowing leaves
The blower motor hummed a resonating D
Panning and scanning
Pinning emotion to my sleeve
The sound of my steps under my nose
Pounded meter into symmetrical sequences
Like a jazz drummer,
As the whirring D note cast harmonic echoes
Off the sides of houses and garages
Like a guitarist and keyboardist
Playing separate octaves
Activating my muse
Sounding words to juggle
On the waves of emotion
