Written by Leo Serra

My eyes close in the mist of unknown

Flailing blindly through the darkness all encompassing

Chosen by the person not mine

Once lost as the light of her faded, night the shape of dawn

The tragic end of a story was upon a time never-ending

Hand in hand with one I once clasped in mine

         too tight

Walls of protection now dimming the once bright light

Now all I see is darkness, protection from the capturing mist

Heart caged for one now to all

Holding out the key begging to be unlocked but unwilling to expose the keyhole

A fluttering mind wishing for a branch

Are they all frail?
