“In my street photography, I try to capture the energy of urban life through light, color, shape, shadow, and reflection. I use silhouettes and obscured forms to create layered, poetic scenes that feel universal—inviting viewers to interpret them in their own way. Most of my work is shot in Amsterdam, where I walk the streets looking for reflective surfaces and fleeting moments, often returning to the same locations to see what new images might emerge.”
Peter Westerhof (The Netherlands, 1963) has been photographing since he was ten years old. Since 2010, he has concentrated on architectural photography, and since 2023, his focus has shifted to street photography. He has created architectural photo reports for various architects and other clients, participated in several group exhibitions, and in 2019 published the book Beyond the West: New Buildings in the East of the Netherlands (commissioned by Bouwsociëteit Stedendriehoek). He studied sociology and history and worked for 12 years at Utrecht University. Since 2001, he has been designing websites through his own company, het Wep.
