If you’ve never been blown away
like a sudden gust in a mounting storm,
let me show you how it feels.
Your heart starts jumping wildly
in a new direction, taut with surprise,
you are pulled like a yo-yo,
or a string in a ball of yarn being gathered.
You are drawn back into the fold;
to be blown away is to be sucked into
a whirlwind gaining momentum;
with you and the other one bobbing and weaving,
through the waves, up and down from the surface, strewn around in the bubbling and widening abyss.
That is the connection created between you.
Tapping through the surface of everyday life
and opening up this new chasm into the unknown, into the universe,
as your heart and soul are drawn deeper in,
your trappings and fences around the self
are being actually blown away.
Laying yourself bare in the pursuit of love,
opening up your true nature to be weighed,
and thereby leaving your soft sides defenceless;
you nevertheless brave it all.
Stoic and stark in the face of risk.
Daring your heart for the chance of reward,
you are filled with hope for your heart’s safe capture.
