Flash Fiction by David Margolin
Hi There Youngster,
We’re writing this from the future. We have our 10th high school anniversary this year. Don’t go! If we attend, we will see Susan Spheroid. She will turn us on, like she did every day in our high school geometry class. (If not for her, we would know the difference between pi and thigh).
She will flirt with us if we go to the reunion. She ignored us in high school, so we won’t believe her when she tells us that she had a crush on us back then, but we will follow a classic formula of self-destruction and answer when opportunity knocks.
Her body won’t be nearly as curvy as in our geometry-class fantasies. Eagle-eye gossipy classmates will spread the word. Our marriage will crash like an arrow falling to the ground. Is that a parabolic path?
Love us,
Us
