Hollow Man by Peter Waters is a conceptual photo essay produced in his Melbourne apartment in 2019, following a period of separation and living alone. Using his wetsuit as an “invisible” flatmate named Tony, Waters explored ideas of identity, isolation and irrelevance. Through the creative process, persistent images revealed personal fears he initially resisted. With guidance from his mentor, he recognised the figure as a reflection of universal and personal anxieties, making the series a visual expression of loneliness and self-revelation.
