LEAVES is a collection of haiku, senryu and tanka unfolding the brevity and beauty of short poems.
Blowing strong winds
Robed in autumn leaves –
The Fall dances
Moving on lonely
Embracing the change

Book by Anita Bacha
The book consists of 96 pages and is divided into five parts, namely prologue, preface, haiku, senryu and tanka poems.
The prologue is a tribute to Hidenori Hiruta, Founder and Secretary General of Akita International Haiku Network made known by poems of the author, translated in Japanese by Hidenori Hiruta in the World Haiku Series 2022.
Therein a glimpse of the popularity of the author’s short poems is discreetly stated as composed and played by Hirai Motoki, renowned Japanese Pianist and Composer at the World Premiere Piano Recital in Mauritius.
In the preface, the author gives an in-depth explanation of the meaning of haiku, senryu and tanka, drawing the difference between them and underlying their relationship with Nature. Finally, she rounds up by quoting haiku selected and featured by two online haiku groups, Japan Haiku Society UK and Scarlat Dragonfly Journal USA.
A sequence of beautifully fresh haiku follows and runs cheerily from summer to spring. Only an aficionado of season change can depict the dexterity of the poet’s quill.
Part 4 comprises fetching senryu and Part 5 of fabulous tanka.
In all, the book includes approximately 400 short poems for all ages and all tastes.
