I bought my first camera when I was 15 years old and set up a darkroom in my bedroom...My first sets of pictures were terrible and so grainy...but I was hooked! A lifelong hobby that after a lot of practice and learning the craft, became a career 20 years later when I gave up working as a Carpenter and builder. It took several hard years to become established as a photographer especially as I chose to run my own stock picture library and not to go the portrait studio route. 50+ years later I now have over 46,100 images, covering many different subjects in my Stock Image Library, over half of these are of animals, 'shot' mainly for the greetings card and calendar companies. Some of my pictures are still in publication today. I stopped 'shooting' animals about seven years ago and decided to change my style completely and to create fine art images and move over into the World of Art. I don't shoot so many of 'pretty' images that anyone and everyone can capture, and I started creating my own style of 'Artworks', by blending textures, grunge and special effects to make every new limited-edition image totally unique and unrepeatable. After shooting pretty and cute for so many years it is great fun to actually create, rather than just shoot, moody, darker, and sometimes downright spooky images. I love it!
