Photographer Guylaine Couttolenc, contributor to Edge of Humanity Magazine, presents the series Inner-Facades. In this work, chairs are placed within different settings, each scene shaped by an emotion experienced at various stages of her life. The chair functions as a symbolic extension of the body, representing an emotional space that viewers may see themselves reflected in. Couttolenc’s compositions are intentional and sincere, aiming to connect image and emotion while inviting reflection and contemplation.

Born in Mexico City in 1973 and currently based in Queretaro, Couttolenc has worked as both an artistic and commercial photographer for three decades. Her formal studies include the Centro Cultural de Arte Contemporaneo, the Kodak School, the Universidad Iberoamericana in Mexico City, and the Speos School of Photography in Paris. With her project Inner-Facades, she continues to explore photography as a medium that bridges personal experience with broader human emotion, offering viewers an opportunity to pause and reconnect with their inner world.
