When I look at this image I ‘m very sad. In my heart, this photograph displays the suffering of the Syrian people. I was very fortunate years ago, before the civil war, to spend a month photographing all over Syria. I met many beautiful people with extremely big hearts. I pray that the Syrian people one day find peace.
