A project about Iranian homosexuals. Looking into how they were limited in their freedoms and what challenges they had living in a strict Muslim country.

 

Afshin lived for almost 30 years as a woman and then she decided to be what she is. He lives in Tehran at the moment with his partner.

Holia is an Iranian Homosexual and truly an amazing friend. I met Holia in a wedding ceremony. When I met Holia she did know that much about homosexuals. After a while she became one of my beloved friend. I took this portraits shot in my home studio in Karaj/ Iran. Holia now lives in America.

Mona (the bride) after a really long journey changed her gender and got married with a straight man.They had a simple ceremony with their friends in Tehran/ Iran.
