Girl
Ghana suffers from Guinea worm. It’s a microscopic worm that is ingested with unfiltered water that then permeates the gut. It ends up growing in your bloodstream and as it get larger lodges itself. That’s the point it tries to escape it’s host. This girl was in a day hospital that we were doing a story on where they extract the meter long worms. It was quite shocking to witness and so sad that by having fresh water would mean it would be easy to avoid.
A curious boy.
Cars
I fell in love with Cuba the minute I got there. It was unique and visually stunning. Everything was familiar yet movie like. At some point you have to get a ride in a 50’s car. This was from a series about umbrellas which everyone seemed to sport.
Phone
Cuba was cut off from the world and therefore stuck in a time warp. Landlines were as good as it got. This is one of a series on that subject
Woman and child.
Another WaterAid trip. This lady had benefited greatly from the new tap stands her village now had. She no longer spent hours getting water. Instead she had set up a cafe and was able to send her children to school.

Maonnie god paradise conjunction.
2 am Penn station and I had missed my train. I was in NY with no agenda other than to let photography guide me. This is Maonnie who is one of the characters everyone knows. I asked him if I could take his portrait and he agreed as long i titled it “Maonnie god paradise conjunction”
The future
A vintage car fair in France. I just loved the expressions. Old before their time and playing stereotypes.
