‘$10 Prayer Book’ Is a reference to a gift that Welsh singing sensation, Tom Jones, received from Elvis Presley, his good friend for many years. During this friendship the pair exchanged many gifts, but the Prayer books Tom Jones’ most treasured.
I feel that this gift bridges the enormous gap between Wales, Memphis and Elvis…The King.
The International Elvis Festival which is held annually in the small seaside town of Porthcawl, South Wales (UK) is now in it;s 12th year. Although now regarded as something of a big ‘booze-up’ it is growing in popularity, bringing in fans from far and wide for the tribute acts and general party type atmosphere.
I have been documenting the festival for the past 6 years.
