A fragrant and cherished pleasure, Louisiana’s Gumbo is a traditional Creole recipe made with a dark smoky roux; Its variety of ingredients are diverse as the culture that created it.
The photographs from this series present themselves with a variety of ingredients that when mixed becomes a cultural stew infused with visual language.
Filling and rich, “Gumbo’s Virtue” sustains as well as reveals the spice of poetry. This fusion feeds the memory that grows on the backyard vine of my youth; The aroma of my Louisiana always contains food and with it, carries the imagery of my past.
