These portraits depict religious leaders and worshipers utilizing various forms of counting devices: tzitzit, prayer beads and rosaries, aiming to highlight similarities rather than differences.

Various forms of prayer beads as counting devices are used in practically all the world’s major religions.

The worshipers were all committed to something greater than themselves and the moment of prayer and devotion seemed very similar.
