Keep the pressure on the Titan!
One cannot go a day without reading bad press regarding the working conditions for Amazon employees. US$15,00 per hour is a good start, but what about working conditions. One trillion dollar valuation does not go well with the people working their bones off, on the facilities floors. Mr. Bezos is looking into an all time low morale and a steaming Christmas’s season ahead. This is good strategy as the Titan bends to popular demand, again, crafting another successful historic move.
Amazon said that it would raise the minimum wage to $15 an hour for its United States employees. The company said it would also lobby Washington to raise the federal minimum wage.
The new wages will apply to more than 250,000 Amazon employees, including those at the grocery chain Whole Foods, as well as the more than 100,000 seasonal employees it plans to hire for the holiday season. The change will not apply to contract workers. It goes into effect on Nov. 1.
Amazon’s market capitalization passed $1 trillion last month, though it has since fallen slightly below that level. Mr. Bezos is now the richest person in the world, with a net worth of $165 billion, according to the Bloomberg Billionaires Index.

Edge of Humanity Magazine’s Prediction: The economy is in a growth mode and employers need warm bodies to fill the positions. Likewise, it is good that the minimum wage is on the rise in America, but a livable wage is still in order for employees. Moreover, robots are on the march and companies will continue to automate wherever they can. Artificial intelligence is on a one way fast track to gobble a massive amount of jobs at all levels. Yes, the robots are on the attack and the Fat Cat CEOs will take no prisoners.
