Alibaba today announced that American small and medium size businesses can now sell on their worldwide website. United States companies will be able to reach Alibaba’s 10 million business buyers in almost 200 countries.

USA local bricks and mortar retail is collapsing, while global online sales continue to expand. The problem is that since price comparison is easy on the internet, will profit margins erode to the point where wholesalers and retailers online become like piranhas in a goldfish bowl, nibbling away at each others existence?
