While specializing there, The Academy of Arts from Bruges invited me to make a photo project of the local Carmelite Monastery and of its monks. As an expat with a Christian Orthodoxy background, I took this as the challenge to beautifully compose a photographic series that captures the interplay between composition, colors, spaces, symbols and the quietly living monks surrounded by the walls of the Monastery. I spent more than nine months on the silent corridors, observing the architecture, their dinning and prayers, the intimacy of their own room. Their library, which covers Theology and Sciences and Arts, led in me in awe and deep respect for the brothers, serving their purpose there. I am deeply grateful for their hospitality which helped immensely me accomplish this project.
