NINETY PERCENT OF the prescription drugs consumed in the United States are generics, and the majority of them are produced overseas, mostly in India and China.

Now that the COVID-19 is spreading across the world map, America will begin to manufacture more generic drugs and medical supplies at home. Moving forward, a greater emphasis will be to keep critical medical supplies well stocked at the state and federal level.

Further, the entire health system of the United States will now be placed on one of the political front burners. The under-insured and uninsured individuals will be less invisible than before COVID-19. Universal healthcare will no longer be dirty words and be given a boost towards eventual reality.
