The Dominican Republic is visited by about six million holiday makers each year, but in March 2020 all tourists went home in rescue flights due to the Covid-19 pandemic.
The beaches are empty. In the Dominican villages, towns, and cities, life goes on during the lockdown. People are walking or doing sports on the streets, as the gyms were closed. There is a colourful scenery and a current election campaign.
