River people fishermen homes,boat houses

Near the town of Coari in the Brazilian Amazon rainforest some 400 miles up the Solimões River from the capital city of Manaus, sits the Petrobras’ natural gas extraction plant of Urucu. It resembles a scab on the face of one of the most pristine pieces of land on earth. These images remind us of how fragile mother nature is and how scary it is to see a fossil fuel exploration enterprise encroached in the heart of the rainforest.
