The series ‘Plastic Habitat’ provides a photographic insight into the absurd urbanization of the desert and the Persian Gulf in Dubai. My focus lies on numerous master planned townhouse communities off the coastline. Serial uniformity, manufactured nature and an often-gated character run like a common thread through the residential enclaves. With long-term exposures at night, I want to reflect upon the melding of the natural and the constructed, depicting a reality that is seemingly artificial.
