Written by Lia Mageira
I love mornings and afternoons
When the shadows grow,
I hunt them through the city,
Back from stairs, next to traffic lights
Behind people running,
In front of park benches.
I talk to them,
I listen to their stories,
Bound forever
Doomed.
If I could ever
To set them free
May the world be filled with shadows
Where they can dance freely.
Like ballerinas on their pointe.
